Date/Death/Cause: On June 29, 2003, Hepburn died of natural causes at Fenwick, the Hepburn family home in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. She was 96 years old, and was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Connecticut. In honor of her extensive theater work, the lights of Broadway were dimmed for an hour.

Short Biography: Born 1904 in Connecticut, she attended Bryn Mawr College where she was an actress in college plays. In 1928 she first appeared on the stage, and in 1932 she first appeared in a motion picture. She's known for her portrayal of strong women onscreen, off-screen as an avant-garde artist and stubborn unconventional woman; partnership with actor Spencer Tracy was a matter of some notoriety. Hepburn's film and TV career was well awarded and established but she also appeared occasionally on stage in the 1950s through the 1980s.
